European Organic Congress 2022: Gastronomy and organic policies, 16-17 June 2022, Bordeaux, France
On 16 and 17 June, the organic movement meets again at Bordeaux for the annual European Organic Congress. IFOAM Organics Europe, together with INTERBIO Nouvelle-Aquitaine, have organized an exciting and topical agenda which will include plenary sessions, a workshop, and many networking opportunities. However, this year’s programme is not only about policy! We have added something extra. Keep reading to discover some of the special gastronomic and organic activities.
Participants can discover the typical gastronomy of France’s southwest. There will be a wine tasting with typical organic wines from the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Together with the Bordeaux Wine Council (@CIVB or @BordeauxWinesUK), you will discover the history of the southwest vineyards and their evolution to more organic production.
The Congress will also host a unique tasting session of France’s only organic oysters. Discover the Island of Ré’s shellfish farming during lunch on 16 June. Frédéric Voisin will introduce his incredible oyster production.
Moreover, the networking dinner will take place at Darwin ecosystem. These former military barracks are eco-rehabilitated and are among the most visited in the city. Located on Bordeaux’s right bank, in the Bastide district, Darwin is a dynamic place where people work, come for lunch (organic of course!), have drinks, stroll, read, discover street art, and choose to consume differently.
