Helping meet organic farmers’ needs: Training on ration planning tool – 18 March 2021, online

Formulating feed rations for organic pigs and poultry is a challenge. OK-Net Ecofeed’s new ration planning tool helps you meet the nutritional needs of your animals!

OK-Net EcoFeed aims to help farmers achieve a 100% organic diet for monogastric animals. Within the project, the French technical institute for organic farming (ITAB) developed the ration planning tool allowing farmers and advisers to calculate animal’s diet on a farm scale. The tool considers nutritional composition of organic feedstuffs, nutritional needs for a variety of performance of organic pigs and poultry, nutritional value of pasturing and the use of roughage. The ration planning tool allows users to compose rations for pigs and poultry for several production objectives, like types of animals, age, slaughter weight, laying potential…

The ration planning tool is available on the Organic Farm Knowledge platform and is accompanied by a manual giving insights and helping users better understand the tool.

Are you interested in using the tool? Register now for our training on 18 March from 14:00-15:30 CET to use the tool to its full capacity!
