InnOFoodLabs project kicks off: Pioneering innovation in organic food across Europe

The European organic food sector welcomes the launch of InnOFoodLabs, a Horizon Europe-funded initiative aimed at strengthening organic food value chains and empowering local economies. During 4 years the project will support 23 innovations across 12 Living Labs in 9 countries, fostering collaboration through a vibrant Community of Practice.

The project officially began on 1st September 2025, and was officially launched during a kick-off meeting in Witzenhausen, Germany, hosted by Kassel University. Over three days, partners from across Europe came together to connect, plan, and share insights, joined by representatives from the European Commission and REA. The meeting also featured visits to inspiring local organic initiatives, setting the tone for a collaborative and impactful journey ahead.

InnOFoodLabs brings together farmers, processors, retailers, consumers, researchers, and advisers to co-create solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable food system. As the project begins, it carries a shared vision: to champion organic innovation and contribute meaningfully to the EU’s Farm to Fork Strategy and Organic Action Plan.

Stay tuned! You can follow the project’s journey and updates on LinkedIn, where we’ll be sharing stories, milestones, and opportunities to engage.
