Let’s Discuss Organic – Youth in Sustainable Food Systems

Let’s Discuss Organic webinar series – webinars of IFOAM Organics Europe – will host a special edition open to all individuals under 40 who have an interest in or are engaged with the subject of sustainable food systems. The webinar is scheduled to take place on 10 October 2023, 10:00 – 12:00 CEST, and it is free of charge, however, prior registration is required. To attend the webinar, register here.

Youth represent the future of farming and are eager to play their part in shaping and changing the agricultural sector towards more sustainability. As the torchbearers of innovation and sustainability, they have the potential to introduce innovative ideas, modern technologies, and environmentally conscious practices to the European food system.

IFOAM Organics Europe endeavours to highlight the importance of “Youth” in the sustainable food systems, specifically, in the organic sector. Indeed, amidst the challenges of the climate crisis, the long process of changing European Union legislations, and the low representation of the younger generation in the farming sector, we believe that youth engagement is needed now more than ever.

This webinar will discuss the importance of organic youth groups and how these can galvanise the creation of sustainable food systems. Central to this endeavour is to encourage the participation of the new generations’ representatives in organic youth groups and to facilitate the exchange of ideas amongst the groups.

The webinar aims to inspire participants by highlighting the significant role played by youth organisations in sustainable food systems and in the political decision-making process. The key focus will be dedicated to:

  • Active engagement in organic organisations of the civil sector, and
  • Involvement in political decision-making processes through advocacy.

Don’t wait any longer, register now to attend!
