Online workshop: How can the EU agricultural sector contribute to climate neutrality?
Welcome to the second public policy workshop of ClieNFarms entitled “How can the EU agricultural sector contribute to climate neutrality?”, organised by IFOAM Organics Europe.
ClieNFarms is a EU-funded H2020 project coordinated by INRAE, which aims to co-develop and scale up systemic, locally relevant solutions to foster climate-neutral and climate-resilient farms across Europe. As part of its policy work package, ClieNFarms is producing 4 policy briefs and hosting 3 public policy workshops. This public policy workshop is the second one of the series and it brings together policy makers, researchers, farmers and representatives of umbrella organisations who have a role to play in the contribution of the agricultural sector to Climate Neutrality. We will present the first policy brief that ClieNFarms has produced followed by a policy debate.
The topic of the policy brief is on the contribution that agriculture can make to meeting the EU 2050 climate neutrality target and the role that EU policy plays on it. The brief connects with the freshly published report of the general Strategic Dialogue on the Future of EU Agriculture (Brussel 4 sep 2024). One of the five pillars of this Dialogue is focused on “Advancing towards sustainable agri-food systems”, with recommendations stretching throughout the food value chain that make this workshop a timely opportunity to engage in impactful discussions on the topic.
The workshop will be online. Register here to secure your spot and receive the Teams link!
These conversations require representation from all sectors of society, so we hope to see you there!
