Weed control in organic farming – Value and risks of different no-till and mechanical weeding techniques
On 7 December, in the framework of the Horizon 2020 IPMWorks project, IFOAM Organics Europe, with the support of Anna Kaszkowiak, Senior international communication specialist at Kujawsko-Pomorski Agricultural Advisory Center and Mette Sønderskov, Senior Advisor at the Dept of Agroecology crop health from Aarhus University, will be hosting the webinar “Weed control in organic farming – Value and risks of different no-till and mechanical weeding techniques“. The content of the webinar will be especially relevant to the arable sector, although everyone is welcome to attend.
During the webinar, two experts will talk about the values and risks of different mechanical and no-till weed control strategies in this type of agricultural systems:
- Bo Melander, a Professor at Aarhus University in Denmark with extended experience in physical, preventive and cultural weed management in organic and conventional cropping systems.
- Bart, an experienced organic farmer and speaker (more information coming soon) who will join us from Poland
Each speaker’s speech will be followed by a Q&A session.
The webinar is open to the public and it will take place over Teams (see link below) on 7 December, 10:00-12:00 CET.
