Addressing food & nutrition security at ATF-FEFAC event – Brussels, 18 November 2021

Nowadays, livestock and crop production are intensive and specialised with negative impact on the nutrient flows and environment. An efficient use of new protein sources, alternative feed and ration planning are crucial to satisfy the need for organic protein and amino acids in animal feed.

This year, the Animal Task Force (ATF) will meet in Brussels on 18 November, 14:00-16:00 to discuss “Going beyond the Feed vs Food competition: crops and animals together to address food and nutrition security”.

Within the “ATF-FEFAC-Horizon 2020 projects stakeholder event“, which supports the dissemination of EU-funded projects, IFOAM Organics Europe’s Research and Innovation Manager, Bram Moeskops, will present some of the most important outputs of OK-Net EcoFeed project to reach 100% organic and regional feed and engage in the discussion on the major contribution of research and innovation to the livestock sector.

Each year, the Animal Task Force (ATF) invites researchers, farmers, policy makers, NGOs, European Technology Platforms and European initiatives to exchange knowledge and discuss on key issues of the European agri-food systems.
