IFOAM Organics Europe’s members will have plenty of opportunities to get engaged, share knowledge and network at this year’s organic events as well. February

BIOFACH 2023, 14–17 February, Nuremberg, Germany

BIOFACH/VIVANESS, the world´s leading trade fair for organic food is back with the ”regular” February edition in 2023. IFOAM Organics Europe will be present at BIOFACH both as an exhibitor and contributor to the congress programme. Pass by our booth 517 in Hall 3A and join our sessions on hot topics for organic. This year, IFOAM Organics Europe will organise and contribute to 10 sessions of BIOFACH’s congress programme. For the full list of our sessions visit our dedicated event page.  

Let’s Discuss Organic (member-only webinar), 23 February, 10:30–12:00 CET 🌱

Let’s Discuss Organic webinar series is back with the first session focusing on promotion policies and how to make the most of them. The webinar will unfold the topic of EU’s promotion policy established to open up new market opportunities for EU farmers and the wider food industry. BioFruitnet International Conference (online), 2 March, 9:15-13.30 CET

The BIOFRUTINET final online conference under the theme ”Innovative solutions in organic fruit production” will showcase the latest innovations and solutions in pome, stone and citrus fruits including strategies on pest and disease control, soil management and biodiversity as well as the use of the most suitable varieties and rootstocks. Let’s Discuss Organic (member-only webinar), 21 March 🌱

This session of the webinar series will deep dive into carbon farming & carbon certification and discuss the latest proposal of the European Commission. Registration and more information about the session will be communicated to members closer to the session’s date.  

SchoolFood4Change conference, 22 March, 9.30-18.00, Brussels, Belgium

In this conference, public procurers, policy-makers, food system experts and civil society organisations will exchange views on best practices, the upcoming Sustainable Food Systems Law and minimum mandatory criteria for public food procurement. IFOAM Organics Europe General Assembly (member-only governing event), 21 June 🌱

The next IFOAM Organics Europe General Assembly (GA) will take place on 21 June 2023, between 09:30 – 15:30. This year’s Assembly will be organised in a hybrid format, physically (Organic House, 11 Rue Marie Thérèse, Brussels) & online. The General Assembly is the most significant yearly decision-making event of IFOAM Organics Europe where all members are encouraged
to join. IFOAM Organics Europe invites its members to join the Assembly in person in Brussels, but kindly note that due to the limited capacity of the venue, priority for in-person participation will be given to 1 representative per member. Please let us know via [email protected] in case more representatives from your organisation would like to join. EU organic day, 25 September

On 25 September, together with our members, like-minded and sector organisations, we will celebrate the ‘EU organic day’ across Europe. The EU organic day is an ideal opportunity to evaluate Europe’s progress towards achieving its goal of 25% organic land by 2030, trends in consumer demand, awareness of organic in the supply chain and the implementation of the EU Organic Action Plan. We are looking forward to collaborating with relevant institutions and interested stakeholders and all Member States and regions to make this annual EU organic day a success! European Organic Congress, 26-27 September, Cordoba, Spain 🌱

The European Organic Congress will trigger this year’s political discourse on organic together with policy-makers, researchers, experts, farmers, entrepreneurs, processors, and retailers from all over Europe.
