Organic production of milk and meat – Join RELACS & Organic-PLUS at meeting of European Federation of Animal Science

From 30 August to 3 September 2021, the 72nd meeting of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) “Scientific solutions to different demands on the livestock sector” will take place in Davos, Switzerland. The programme covers various disciplines, such as animal genetics, animal health and welfare, animal nutrition, animal physiology, livestock farming systems, cattle, horse, pig, sheep and goat production, precision livestock farming and insects.

The Horizon 2020 projects RELACS and Organic-PLUS will organize a session (#51) on “Organic production of milk and meat” on 1 September from 14:30-18:30 CEST. Massimo de Marchi (Organic-PLUS) and Veronika Maurer (RELACS) will co-chair this session, walking participants through eight theatre presentations, four posters from both projects and five digital presentations.

Introductory presentations will give an overview on the current use of contentious inputs on organic farms and the farmer’s perspective on their usage. The following presentations will cover the quality of organic milk and meat as well as natural alternatives to synthetic vitamins, antibiotics and anthelmintics. Have a look at pages 77-78 of the conference programme for more information.

Register now to take part on-site or virtually. Participants can choose between a day pass or package for all conference sessions.

The Swiss organizers expect 800 participants on site and 400 online. Three of eleven parallel sessions will be hybrid, while all other sessions will be live streamed and offer participants the option to interact with speakers via a dedicated chat function.
