Promotion policies: Dedicated budget for promotion organic in 2025
Good news! Like the previous years the European Commission has a dedicated budget to promote EU organic.
The Commission has recently confirmed that MULTI programmes will continue to be financed under the EU promotion policy budget. Specifically, 40 million euros will be dedicated to MULTI programmes, which fund proposals to which European organisations or organisations based in two or more Member States apply to. At the same time, 92 million euros will be devoted to SIMPLE programmes, which funds proposals written by an organisation based in one Member State.
While the budget for organic was decreased in 2025 compared to 2024, there is still a ring-fenced budget for organic both under SIMPLE and under MULTI programmes.
Save the date: Info days & IFOAM Organics Europe’s webinar
In terms of next important dates, the 2025 annual work programme (AWP) will be published mid-December, and the call for proposals will be published in January. As during every year, the European Commission will hold the “info days” end of January, during which stakeholders will be able to find out more about this year’s call for proposals, and which mistakes to avoid should they wish to apply for this budget.
IFOAM Organics Europe members will be able to follow our ‘Let’s Discuss Organic’ webinar on this topic on 21 January – please see the update for members in our December 2024 newsletter or our member extranet.
