Regulatory update after Summer

During the past months, the Commission published updates related to the EU Organic Regulation. In this article, we summarise them. Our members can read the full article on our member extranet. This article also contains an update on our work on organic salt. 

New regulations published 

  • Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1686 of 30 June 2023 amending Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1698 as regards certain procedural requirements for the recognition of control authorities and control bodies that are competent to carry out controls on operators and groups of operators certified organic and on organic products in third countries and certain requirements on their supervision.  
  • Corrigendum to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1202 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2325 on the recognition of control authorities and control bodies for the purpose of importing organic products into the Union was published.

Commission FAQ on organic rules updated  

The Frequently asked questions on organic rules document of the EU Commission has been further updated, and a new edition was published on 17 July. The document has been completed with new topics covering the rules on labelling and the logo, plant and animal production rules, food and wine.
