Remember to register for the upcoming 4th edition of IFOAM Organics Europe Meets Business, taking place virtually on 7 December 2021. This successful platform for exchange between players from the whole (organic) supply chain brings together IFOAM Organics Europe’s members and their members, as well as companies involved or interested in organic.
Participants will have the chance to exchange and network with expert speakers, policymakers and (organic) companies.

We are delighted to announce the first speakers of this year’s edition. The first afternoon session will be all about the new EU Organic Regulation. Our esteemed speakers will give an overview of the rules on organic production and labelling that will enter into force on 1 January 2022 under Regulation 2018/848. Alexander Beck (AöL) will focus on processing rules and flavourings, while Bernard Lignon (Synabio) will update participants on the provisions regarding cleaning and disinfectants. Finally, Michel Reynaud (Ecocert) will give us insights into the new rules on organic certification and imports.
In our second afternoon session, we will discuss how to deal with pesticide residues. Marian Blom (Bionext) will introduce this session and present IFOAM Organics Europe’s Developing Organic project on pesticide residues. Afterwards, we will welcome Jan Groen who will talk about the quality assurance system of Green Organics and how his company deals with pesticide residues. Bernard Lignon (Synabio) will join this session and inform participants about the lessons learned from the residue findings of Ethylene Oxide in organic products, such as sesame seeds.
