Welcoming our new colleagues

Eirini Karvouni

Eirini joined us as an Erasmus+ trainee from September. She holds advanced university degrees in agriculture and food science, as well as recent doctoral studies in business administration and management. Professionally, she has gained experience in EU research centres, private companies and food industries, where she developed valuable skills and acquired in-depth knowledge of agri-food systems. She is passionate about sustainable development and agroecological approaches that support resilient food and farming systems.

Emma cortese

Emma just joined the Communications unit as an ESC volunteer! She’s a cultural anthropologist with a background in International Relations, focusing on rural development and gender issues. In her last role, she worked on environmental education, reforestation, and agroecology projects in the Ecuadorian Amazon. She’s passionate about different cultures, equality, and the environment!

Francesca Sezzella

Francesca recently joined the Projects & Partnerships unit as an ESC volunteer too! Her passion for food and personal values for sustainability and social equity brought her first to a Master’s in Sustainable Food System Management in Italy and then to Belgium, to work with Rikolto in Leuven, where she contributed to their Good Food@School global programme. She’s now excited to join IFOAM Organics Europe and to work together towards positive impact!

Marie Froehly

In August, Marie joined IFOAM Organics Europe as Research & Innovation Officer. With a background in ecology, conservation, and agricultural sciences, she has always been passionate about sustainable farming and the environment. Over the last three years, Marie has worked as an agricultural advisor at Bio Bourgogne Franche Comté, supporting farmers in organic practices. She’s happy to be joining IFOAM Organics Europe and to contribute to the organic movement at the European level!

Olha Stovpivska

Olha is IFOAM Organics Europe’s new Marketing & Communications Officer starting from September. She’s an experienced digital communication professional with a background in content creation, copywriting, and social media management. After living in many countries, she has decided to settle down in Brussels, joining IFOAM Organics Europe! She believes communications should not only inform but also inspire and connect, making even the most complex ideas feel engaging and actionable.
